Pezeshkian: International rights of nations cannot be denied through war and threat
Pars Today- Iran's president stressed that nations and countries enjoy certain rights according to the international rules which cannot be denied with war and threat. He said, "We are ready for negotiation and cooperation to build trust on peaceful nuclear activities."
According to Pars Today, quoting from IRNA, Masoud Pezeshkian, Iran's President, in response to his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, concerning what the Westerners call "Trust-building", said, "We have always pursued bolstering cooperation with the world countries based on mutual trust and respect, but it was the Zionist regime which created obstruction and disturbance from the first day [of my presidency] with assassinating martyr Haniyeh in Tehran."
Pezeshkian added, "This continued to the extent that today we can see that the Zionist regime has blatantly violated all international regulations with military aggression on Iran. The Zionist regime tries to make the entire region insecure. The governments and international institutions are expected, according to global principles and rules, to condemn this trend and prevent continuation of such measures through effective actions."
Pointing to Imam Khamenei's fatwa on prohibition of production of nuclear weapons, he said, "Iran has always announced that while being prepared for trust-building [which has already been built several times], it will never come short of enjoying peaceful nuclear capabilities clarified in the international rules."
Iran's president added, "We will never accept to reduce our nuclear activities to zero. Moreover, our response will be more crushing and decisive to continuation of aggression by the Zionist regime."
Pezeshkian made it clear, "The recent aggression by the Zionist regime proved that the programs for strengthening defensive capability are not negotiable at all. The Zionist regime should be put in its place."
The French president, for his part, referring to the previous phone talk with Pezeshkian, said, "I have stressed to you that we were not involved in the Israeli military attack on Iran and, in France's opinion, any attack on civilian and non-nuclear centers is condemned."
Pointing to the Friday talks of the EU troika foreign ministers with their Iranian counterpart, Macron made it clear, "France makes every effort to stop military clashes and ease tensions. France deems respect for the integrity and sovereignty of all countries and believes that impacting the sovereignty of countries with pressure and threat is not a proper way."
